Are you passionate about helping children and young people overcome barriers to learning and reach their full potential?

Inspire EHC is looking to connect with caring and motivated SEN Teaching Assistants interested in opportunities within specialist education settings in the Meopham and Gravesend area.

This type of setting supports pupils with a range of additional needs, including autism, ADHD, communication differences, sensory processing difficulties and learning needs. You will play an important role in helping pupils feel supported, develop new skills and gain greater confidence in their everyday learning.

Whether you already have experience in special educational needs or are looking to develop your career in this field, we'd be interested in hearing from you.

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you could help pupils engage with lessons, build relationships and develop the skills they need to become more independent.

Depending on the setting and the individual needs of the pupils, your responsibilities may include:

  • Providing individual support to help pupils participate in learning activities
  • Assisting teachers with classroom activities and tailored learning programmes
  • Encouraging communication, positive relationships and social development
  • Helping pupils manage sensory needs and emotional regulation
  • Promoting positive behaviour through patient, consistent support
  • Breaking down tasks to make learning more accessible
  • Encouraging self-confidence, independence and everyday life skills
  • Helping maintain a calm, structured and supportive learning environment
  • Working collaboratively with teachers and other professionals to support individual learning goals

We're keen to hear from people who are enthusiastic about supporting children with additional needs and who understand the importance of a patient, individualised approach.

You may be a good fit if you are:

  • Kind, understanding and able to build trust with children and young people
  • Calm and confident when responding to different behaviours and needs
  • A good communicator who enjoys working as part of a team
  • Interested in autism, special educational needs and inclusive education
  • Motivated to help pupils develop academically, socially and emotionally
  • Reliable, adaptable and willing to learn new approaches

Experience working with SEN, autism or challenging behaviour would be beneficial, although candidates with transferable skills and the right attitude may also be considered.

  • The opportunity to explore specialist education roles in the Kent area
  • Support from a recruitment team specialising in education and additional needs
  • Opportunities to develop your SEN experience and professional skills
  • The chance to make a meaningful difference to children's lives
  • Potential opportunities across temporary and longer-term placements, subject to availability

Inspire EHC is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. All placements are subject to the relevant safeguarding and safer recruitment checks, including enhanced DBS checks and satisfactory references where required.

We are an equal opportunities employer and welcome applications from candidates of all backgrounds.

Please note that sponsorship is not available.

If you're looking to build a rewarding career supporting children and young people with additional needs, we'd love to hear from you.
