Job summary

Teaching Personnel Ltd. in Newcastle (NE4) is seeking full-time Teaching Assistants to support students with SEN/SEMH needs in a specialist secondary setting. The role runs Monday to Friday, starting October 2026, with DBS clearance required or to be obtained.

Experience from the Armed Forces or similar backgrounds is welcomed and encouraged to bring resilience and strong communication to the classroom. Salary is paid daily at £92-£110 depending on experience.

• Strong behaviour management and communication skills.
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one.

Responsibilities

• Support students with SEN/SEMH in and out of the classroom.
• Build positive relationships to encourage engagement and emotional regulation.
• Collaborate with teachers, pastoral staff and support teams to promote progress.
• Maintain a calm, safe, and structured learning environment.
• Support students academically and pastorally.
• Full-time, Monday to Friday.
