Job summary

Moray Council in Lossiemouth is seeking a caring, patient individual to assist the early years team in delivering a supportive learning environment for children with additional support needs. You will help with personal care, mobility support and promoting independence, within a safe setting.

The role requires PVG scheme membership (or update) before an offer, standard-level education, and good English/arithmetic. 20 hours per week term-time; temporary until 22 December 2026.

Qualifications

• Experience of working with children & young adults in a caring environment.
• Educated to standard level or equivalent with good English and arithmetic.
• SSSC Registered (or apply within 3 months and fully registered within 6 months).
• Ability to observe confidentiality and use sound judgement.
• Ability to communicate at all levels and work under guidance of teaching staff.
• Willingness to undertake further training/development.

• Provide support to children and young people with additional support needs.
• Attend to personal care and health, ensuring a safe, healthy and hygienic environment.
• Support pupils with mobility needs.
