Job summary

Academics is recruiting an Alternative Provision Teaching Assistant to join an alternative provision setting in Cheltenham. You will provide tailored support to learners who require additional academic, emotional or behavioural support, helping them to thrive in a nurturing environment.

The role involves 1:1 and small group support, delivering targeted interventions, building positive relationships with learners and monitoring progress.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children or young people is beneficial, but not essential.
• Enhanced DBS check is required, or you must be willing to apply for one.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 and small group support to learners across the day.
• Support learners with their learning, development and engagement.
• Support the delivery of targeted interventions and personalised activities.
• Build positive and trusting relationships with learners.
• Encourage continued positive behaviour choices, confidence and independence.
• Monitor learner progress and provide feedback to teaching staff.
• Help maintain a calm, safe and inclusive learning environment for all.
• Follow all policies and procedures on a daily basis.
