Job summary

Supply Desk Ltd. is seeking a dedicated Primary SEN Teacher for a specialist school in Basingstoke from November 2026 to July 2027. You will plan personalised lessons for pupils with ASC, MLD, and SLD within small classes and a supportive team.

The role emphasises collaboration with staff, families, and other professionals to create a nurturing environment where learners grow in confidence and essential life skills.

Qualifications

• Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
• Experience teaching pupils with special educational needs.
• Understands the needs of learners with autism, MLD and/or SLD.
• Able to differentiate lessons and adapt teaching to individual needs.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver differentiated lessons tailored to pupils’ individual needs and abilities.
• Support learners with ASC, MLD, SLD and other additional needs.
• Create a positive, structured and inclusive classroom environment.
• Adapt teaching approaches to support communication, engagement and learning.
• Monitor and assess pupil progress, contributing to individual learning plans and targets.
• Work closely with teaching assistants, families and other professionals to provide consistent support.
• Encourage pupils to develop independence, confidence and essential life skills.
• Promote positive behaviour, emotional wellbeing and meaningful participation in learning.
