Job summary

Aspire People in Leicester is seeking a caring SEN Nursery Teaching Assistant to join their early years team. This role supports young children with additional needs, helping them develop communication, confidence and early learning skills in a specialist SEN setting.

You will work 1:1 and in small groups, follow individual learning plans, and collaborate with teachers and SEN staff to create a safe, nurturing and stimulating environment for every child.

Qualifications

• Has previous experience working with young children with SEN.
• Ideally has experience within a nursery, early years or specialist SEN setting.
• Patient, caring and nurturing.

Aspire People have partnered with a specialist SEN school in Leicester who are looking for a caring, enthusiastic and experienced SEN Nursery Teaching Assistant to join their early years team.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who loves working with young children with additional needs and wants to help them develop their communication, confidence, independence and early learning skills.

About the Role

Working within an SEN nursery setting, you will provide hands-on support to young children with a range of additional needs, helping them feel safe, settled and ready to learn.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Supporting young children on a 1:1 and small-group basis
• Helping children develop their communication and social skills
• Supporting early learning through play-based activities
• Encouraging independence and personal development
• Supporting children's emotional regulation and wellbeing
• Helping children with sensory needs and individual routines
• Creating a safe, nurturing and stimulating environment
• Supporting children with transitions and changes in routine
• Building positive and trusting relationships with children
• Working closely with teachers, SEN staff and other professionals
• Following individual support and learning plans
