Job summary

Grange School in Manchester is seeking a Lunchtime Organiser SEN to join our dedicated team. You will support pupils in the dining hall and around the school, helping them enjoy a safe and engaging lunchtime.

This part-time role (10 hours per week, term time only) starts 1 November 2026 and offers a starting salary of £6,229 with a full-time equivalent of £26,016. We value caring, reliable staff and provide strong safeguarding and professional development.

Qualifications

  • Enjoy working with children and young people.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to build positive relationships with pupils, families and colleagues.
  • Patient, flexible and resilient in a school setting.
  • Able to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Understanding of safeguarding and child welfare responsibilities.

Responsibilities

  • Support pupils in the dining hall and around the school site.
  • Assist with feeding, toileting, changing and handwashing where required.
  • Encourage independence, social interaction and positive behaviour.
  • Lead and support lunchtime clubs and activities, such as sports, arts and sensory activities.
  • Provide care and reassurance to pupils who are unwell or have minor accidents.
  • Work with teachers and support staff to ensure pupils' wellbeing and safety.
  • Support the safe use of specialist equipment following training.
