Job summary

Manor Green School in Maidenhead is seeking a Specialist Support Assistant to work with the classroom team. You will support learning, care needs and prepare resources to enable independent progress across the national curriculum.

You will assist with 1-1 and small-group work, support behaviour strategies, and help implement Individual Education Plans. Training in ACE models is available.

Qualifications

• An understanding of the educational objectives of the curriculum.
• Ability to support learning across all areas of the curriculum.
• Ability to lead and direct the work of others.
• Experience in challenging environments.
• Excellent planning and record-keeping abilities.
• Ability to communicate sympathetically with children and parents.
• Experience of SEN settings and care plans usage.
• Experience of group or class supervision.
• Awareness of care plans and their use.

Responsibilities

• Support learning across the national curriculum and assist with activities.
• Assist in developing Individual Education Plans using ACE models.
• Co-facilitate student groups and therapeutic sessions as needed.
• Prepare materials and resources for planned activities.
• Support care needs, intimate care when required, and safety.
• Monitor and feedback progress to classroom teacher.
• Promote positive behaviour and inclusive participation in activities.
