Learning Support Assistants - SEN | Full-Time | St Helens | September 2025 Start

Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of young people with special educational needs (SEN)? Teaching Personnel is seeking multiple dedicated and compassionate Learning Support Assistants to work full-time in mainstream secondary schools across St Helens, starting in September 2025.

This is a fantastic opportunity for individuals looking to build a career in education, gain valuable classroom experience, or continue their journey supporting children and young people with additional needs.

  • Support students with a range of special educational needs, including autism, ADHD, and social, emotional and mental health needs (SEMH)

  • Work one-to-one or in small groups under the guidance of SENCOs and classroom teachers

  • Help promote inclusion, confidence and academic progress in a mainstream school setting

  • Full-time hours, Monday to Friday during school term time

  • Previous experience in a similar role or with children/young people with SEN

  • Background in residential care, youth support, or social work

  • A degree in Psychology or related field

  • Aspirations to become a teacher and a desire to gain practical experience

  • A positive, patient and resilient attitude

  • Must hold or be willing to apply for an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service

  • Commitment to the full academic year starting September 2025

  • Ability to build strong, supportive relationships with students and staff
