Job summary

Gateshead College is seeking a Learning Support Officer at the Baltic Campus to help students access mainstream curriculum and work experience. You will support learners on a one-to-one and group basis, helping them develop confidence and key skills.

You’ll motivate, guide and implement support plans with curriculum staff, managing complex behaviours and tracking progress against EHCP outcomes. This is a term-time, part-time role with a fixed term until 30 July 2027, occupying 30 contractual

Qualifications

• Experience supporting students with SEN and autism.
• Teaching assistant qualification or willingness to undertake.
• Excellent communication and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Motivate and support students in 1:1 and small group settings.
• Develop support plans and learning strategies with curriculum staff.
• Monitor progress and ensure learners meet goals.
