Job summary

Ace Academics Consultancy is hiring a SEN Learning Support Assistant to join a supportive college in West London. The role focuses on assisting students with mild to moderate SEN in a small, nurturing classroom, helping them develop practical and life skills for future employment.

You will work closely with teaching staff to create an engaging and inclusive learning environment, providing tailored support and contributing to student confidence and independence.

Qualifications

• Experience as Learning Support Assistant or similar in SEN settings.
• Experience supporting young people with SEN or learning difficulties.
• Patient, approachable and encouraging attitude.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with teachers and staff.
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one.
• Experience in Further Education or SEN provision is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Support students with mild to moderate SEN and additional learning needs.
• Assist lecturers with classroom prep, resources and activities.
• Provide 1:1 and small-group support where needed.
• Encourage independence, confidence, communication and social skills.
• Support practical activities, vocational learning and everyday life skills.
• Help maintain a positive, safe and inclusive classroom environment.
• Monitor engagement and report progress to staff.
