Job summary

Ace Academics Consultancy is seeking a dedicated SEN Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to join a welcoming Special Needs college in West London. You will work closely with teaching staff to support pupils with mild to moderate SEN in a small, supportive classroom environment, helping students develop practical, life and vocational skills.

The role includes 1:1 and small-group support, assisting with lesson activities and monitoring progress to promote independence and confidence.

Qualifications

• Experience as Learning Support Assistant or similar in education.
• Experience supporting students with SEN or learning difficulties.
• Patient, approachable and encouraging attitude.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Enhanced DBS check on Update Service or willingness to obtain one.

Responsibilities

• Support students with mild to moderate SEN and additional learning needs.
• Assist lecturers and teachers with classroom preparation, resources and lesson activities.
• Provide 1:1 and small-group learning support where required.
• Encourage students to develop independence, confidence, communication and social skills.
• Support students with practical activities, vocational learning and everyday life skills.
• Help maintain a positive, safe and inclusive classroom environment.
• Monitor student engagement and progress, providing feedback to teaching staff.
