Job summary

Randstad Education in Copthorne is seeking a dedicated SEN Learning Support Assistant to join a residential special school for ages 6-16. You will support teaching staff, deliver individual and small‑group activities, and help learners access the curriculum within a calm, therapeutic environment.

Term time, full-time hours 08:30–16:00, with a long-term contract guaranteed until July 2027. On-site parking and modern resources are provided, with opportunities for career progression and engagement

Qualifications

Experience working in SEND settings.
Experience working with children is essential.
Willingness to learn and build relationships with learners.

Responsibilities

Provide teaching assistance to the teacher according to planning.
Provide group and/or individual activities planned by the teacher.
Work individually with learners to develop work.
Support the general well being of learners within the school structure.
Monitor and evaluate learners' learning under guidance of the teacher.
Assist teachers in using management strategies to ensure a structured environment for learning.
Support all learners in planned structured work across curriculum areas.
