Job summary

Teaching Personnel is seeking a proactive and compassionate Teaching Assistant (LSA) to join SEN schools in and around Portsmouth. The role involves supporting pupils with Special Needs in 1:1 and small group settings during term time, helping deliver personalised learning plans and EHCPs.

You will work closely with teachers and therapists to foster a safe, inclusive learning environment and support pupil progress, with training provided and potential for long-term or permanent opportunities.

Qualifications

• Previous experience working with children or young people (education or SEN)
• Calm, patient and adaptable approach to supporting diverse needs
• Excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills, with strong safeguarding focus

Responsibilities

• Provide academic and emotional support to pupils with Special Needs in 1:1 and small groups
• Support delivery of personalised learning plans and EHCPs
• Encourage pupil engagement by creating a safe, inclusive learning environment
• Work with teachers, therapists and school staff to support pupil progress
