Job summary

Pertemps Education Network is seeking an experienced SEN Learning Support Assistant for a school in Acton, West London. The role is full-time, starting ASAP and involves supporting pupils with additional needs across the school.

You will run structured interventions (Speech & Language, Phonics, OT) and work closely with teachers and SENCOs to provide consistent, compassionate support. The position offers a collaborative, inclusive environment in Acton.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting pupils with additional needs in SEN/SEND settings.
• Confident delivering 1:1 and small-group interventions.
• Experience with Autism and communication/learning difficulties.
• Proficient with school IT and recording progress notes.
• Patient, nurturing and able to build relationships.

Responsibilities

• Providing 1:1 and small-group support to pupils with a range of additional needs.
• Supporting pupils with SEND, including Autism and other communication and learning needs.
• Running structured intervention groups to support pupils' academic, communication and developmental progress.
• Delivering interventions linked to Speech & Language, Occupational Therapy (OT) and Phonics.
• Supporting pupils to develop their communication, confidence, independence and learning skills.
• Keeping accurate and detailed notes and records of pupil progress, interventions and outcomes.
• Using a PC and school IT systems confidently to record information and communicate effectively with staff.
• Working closely with teachers, SENCOs and other professionals to ensure pupils receive consistent and appropriate support.
• Helping to create a calm, safe and inclusive learning environment.
• Supporting pupils with their emotional, social and behavioural development where required.
