Job summary

South West London and St George's Mental Health NHS Trust is seeking a Learning Support Assistant to support interns with employability and English & maths within Choices College. The role involves working across Newcastle-based sites with learners who have SEN.

Strong communication and a passion for helping students reach their potential are essential. A full driving licence is desirable, and flexible working and benefits may be available as the college expands its partnership with the trust.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting students with SEN in classroom settings.
• Excellent communication with learners and staff.
• Full driving licence and access to a vehicle desirable.

Responsibilities

• Support SEN pupils in the classroom under the supervision of a tutor.
• Provide targeted support outside the classroom such as the intern’s placement.
• Differentiate activities to meet learners’ needs.
• Liaise with the tutor to deliver SEN provision.
• Support the development of social/emotional skills of learners.
• Monitor progress of learners with Tutors.
