Job summary

GSL Education is seeking a SEN Learning Support Assistant to provide tailored one-to-one support for students with diverse learning needs in Wickford. You will work with the classroom teacher to implement personalised learning plans and help pupils stay engaged.

The role requires strong communication, patience and a collaborative approach with colleagues, safeguarding knowledge, and commitment to pupil wellbeing. DBS checks are required, with a supportive environment for development.

Qualifications

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Patience, adaptability, and a genuine passion for supporting student success.
• Initiative and willingness to collaborate with the teaching team.
• Previous experience in a similar role is desirable but not essential.
• A passion for supporting young people to learn and develop.

Responsibilities

• Provide one-to-one support to specific students with learning needs, 1:1 or small groups.
• Assist in implementing individualised education plans.
• Collaborate with teachers, Special Education Coordinators, and other professionals.
• Foster a positive, supportive relationship to promote well-being and engagement.
• Monitor and track student progress, providing feedback to the teacher and parents as needed.
• Collaborate with other professionals to ensure holistic support.
