Job summary

GSL Education are seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to work within a specialist school in the NG17 area. The role is on supply basis with potential for long-term and permanent opportunities.

Ideal candidates will have experience as a Teaching Assistant, Learning Support Assistant or SEN professional who are passionate about supporting children with Special Educational Needs and helping them reach their full potential. Right to work in the UK and DBS on Update Service are required.

Qualifications

  • Experience supporting children with Special Educational Needs.
  • Ability to work 1:1 and in small groups.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to promote positive behaviour and engagement.

Responsibilities

  • Provide 1:1 and small-group support to pupils with additional needs.
  • Support pupils with learning, communication, social and emotional development.
  • Help create a calm, positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Work with teachers and support staff to deliver individualised support.
  • Promote positive behaviour and engagement throughout the school day.
  • Support pupils to develop confidence, independence and life skills.
  • Follow individual support plans and contribute to a consistent approach.
