Are you an experienced SEN/ASD Teaching Assistant with a passion to make a difference to children who have ASD?

TLTP are looking for an experienced SEN/ASD TA for an SEN School based in Mitcham, Surrey. The school is committed to the development and delivery of high-quality relationships with families and local community organizations to ensure that the children attending the school achieve their full potential and become respected and active members of the local community.

The position will include:

1. Working with primary students with ASD & Learning Difficulties
2. Working with children with ASD, ADHD, bright and very capable
3. Providing personal care to students when/if needed
4. Using visual aids to communicate with students
5. One-to-one or small group support

Requirements:

1. Available to start ASAP
2. Experience of working with children or a care background

This role involves supporting secondary-aged children with Autism and complex needs.

1. Excellent behaviour management skills
2. Ability to build positive relationships with young people and staff
3. Good knowledge/experience working with children with ASD/complex needs in a SEN environment
4. Experience working with secondary-aged pupils with special needs

Responsibilities include:

1. Collaborating with classroom teachers to define appropriate activities
2. Assessing children with learning difficulties and working with colleagues to identify individual needs
3. Liaising with professionals such as social workers, speech and language therapists, physiotherapists, and educational psychologists
4. Working closely with parents and guardians
5. Organising outdoor activities and community visits
6. Assisting with personal care and medical needs of severely disabled pupils
7. Maintaining records of pupils' progress
8. Attending statutory reviews and related meetings, including EHC plan reviews
9. Participating in in-service training
10. Implementing behaviour management strategies
