Are you looking to build your experience supporting young people with additional needs in a secondary school setting?

SEN Learning Mentor

September 2025 to July 2026

£80 - £100 per day

‘Good’ secondary school, Walsall

Role

This SEN Learning Mentor role involves providing dedicated 1:1 support to a Year 10 student with additional needs. You’ll work closely with the SENCo and teaching staff to ensure the student is fully supported across subjects, helping them stay engaged, manage their emotions, and make academic progress. The role may include adapting resources, reinforcing key concepts, and helping with social and emotional regulation. Your input will be vital in supporting their journey towards GCSEs.

Candidate

The school is seeking someone who is reliable, compassionate, and able to build positive relationships with teenagers. Prior experience working with young people with SEND—especially in mentoring, coaching, or classroom support roles—is advantageous. A background in education, psychology, youth work, or social care is also welcomed. Strong communication skills, resilience, and a calm, consistent demeanor are essential.
