Job Title: SEN EYFS Teaching Assistant

Description:

Are you patient, empathetic, and committed to supporting a young child with additional needs? This role offers a rewarding opportunity to work closely with a Reception-aged child with Down Syndrome, providing 1:1 support to help them access learning, develop communication skills, and feel secure in the school environment.

Details:

  • Academic Year: September 2025 to July 2026
  • Salary: £81–£101 per day
  • Location: Central Wolverhampton
  • School Type: Primary school with a strong focus on inclusion and pastoral care
  • Responsibilities include supporting the child's EHCP, collaborating with teachers and SENCO, and assisting with routines, transitions, and positive behaviour management.

Candidate Requirements:

  • Experience working with children in school or nursery settings
  • Understanding of SEN, with additional skills in speech and language support, Makaton, or developmental delays being advantageous
  • Calm, consistent, nurturing, reliable, and proactive
  • Interest in early years education and commitment for the full academic year
