Job summary

Academics is seeking an EHCP Assistant for a specialist SEN school in Wokingham. This role is ideal for psychology graduates looking to gain practical experience supporting children with EHCP outcomes and diverse needs.

You will provide 1:1 and small-group support, help students develop confidence and independence, and assist with learning, behaviour, and wellbeing strategies. Working hours are 8:30am-3:30pm, Monday to Friday, with a full-time contract and pay of £93-£110 per day. Start ASAP.

Qualifications

  • Compassionate, patient and enthusiastic about supporting young people.
  • Confident communicator with a genuine passion for working within SEN.
  • Interested in gaining practical experience before pursuing a career in psychology, education, therapy, or a related field.
  • Able to build strong, positive relationships with students, teachers, and colleagues.
  • Reliable, proactive, and willing to learn about individual student needs and EHCP provision.

Responsibilities

  • Provide 1:1 and small-group support tailored to students' EHCP outcomes and needs.
  • Help students develop confidence, independence, communication, and active participation in learning.
  • Support the implementation of individual learning, behaviour, and wellbeing strategies.
  • Work closely with teachers and support staff to promote a positive, inclusive learning environment.
  • Observe and monitor students' progress, wellbeing, engagement, and development.
