Job summary

Fresh Start In Education Ltd. is seeking committed professionals to support learners with SEND in home or specialist settings. You will deliver personalised tutoring sessions, working at school hours within term time, with flexibility and a compassionate team behind you.

Experience with autism or other complex needs helps, and safeguarding knowledge is essential. This role offers a meaningful, community-driven opportunity to inspire learners and make a real difference.

Qualifications

• Qualified teachers, tutors, teaching assistants, SEN specialists, and education professionals with experience supporting children and young people.
• Background in Primary, Secondary and Post 16 teaching, or specialist SEND environments.
• Experience or interest in working with students with autism, communication needs, and learning difficulties.
• A minimum of 2 consistent weekdays of availability.
• Up-to-date safeguarding and child protection knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Providing 1:1 or 2:1 educational support to children and young people in their homes or specialist settings in Yeovil or surrounding location.
• Delivering personalised, creative sessions that reflect each learner’s needs, interests, and abilities.
• Sessions run during the school day (term time only) and typically last 3 to 5 hours.
• Working flexibly as part of a compassionate, expert-led team that values you, your skills and input.
• Engaging with students who may have autism, global developmental delay, or complex needs, helping them achieve outcomes at their pace.

What You’ll Be Doing

Who We’re Looking For

Familiarity with Makaton, PECS, or other communication strategies along with de-escalation and behaviour management training is an advantage.
