Job Description:
Description

Can you inspire hope for some of the most vulnerable young people in the Camberley area?

For young people with conditions such as cerebral palsy, along with SEN and SEMH needs, the traditional classroom can be a daunting, even impossible environment. Physical challenges, overwhelming sensory input, limited accessibility, and a lack of tailored support often leave them feeling excluded from education altogether. Many become unable or unwilling to attend school.

When these young people are out of education, they urgently need the kind of experience, empathy and commitment that you can bring. That’s where Fresh Start in Education comes in.

We provide personalised 1:1 or 2:1 support for students in bespoke placements created and supported by our dedicated team. As an Education Specialist, you’ll design and deliver creative, interest-led programmes that make learning truly accessible. Whether that’s linking YouTube to English, baking to Maths, or using gardening to teach Science, you’ll turn their world into their classroom in a way that respects their physical needs, pace, and potential.

Your work can be the turning point — helping a young person with cerebral palsy not just access education, but believe in it again. Help us open the door to possibility.

The placements
  • Working with your student on a 1:1 or 2:1 basis in their home or a suitable venue in or around the Camberley area
  • Planning and delivering 2-5 sessions per week. Each session is between 3-5 hours, during school hours and term-times only.
  • Placements organised and supported by our dedicated teams
  • Bank Staff worker – providing short-term provisions as and when they arise, paid via PAYE
What you need to apply
  • Minimum of 2 years’ professional experience working with vulnerable children or young people with additional needs (SEN, SEMH needs and other barriers to learning)
  • Experience delivering or supporting English and Maths at Primary or Secondary levels, along with other subjects if possible
  • Consistent availability to commit to a minimum of 2 sessions per week (a minimum of 2 working days)
  • A commitment to keeping children and young people safe and a practical and up to date knowledge of safeguarding
The benefits
  • Competitive hourly rate of £25 to £35 per hour
  • Subsidised travel costs and £15 per day for resources
  • Free wellbeing and counselling service, pension option & store discounts
  • Work for a nationally recognised provider of specialist academic, social and emotional support for vulnerable young children and adults
