Job summary

Easthorpe School in the East Midlands is seeking a SEN Class Teacher to support a new Lower School provision for pupils aged 7-13. The role is full-time, term-time only, with a base salary up to £37,500 plus SEN Allowance of £2,679.

The successful candidate will join a supportive team in a specialist independent setting, with small class sizes and strong focus on SEMH needs, safeguarding, and high-quality teaching.

Qualifications

• Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
• Have a strong educational background to degree level.
• Have previous successful SEND teaching experience.
• Have a good understanding of the examination process.
• Have previous experience of working with pupils with SEMH within an educational setting.
• Have experience of using effective behaviour management techniques.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver high-quality lessons within the National Curriculum, at primary and secondary levels, while meeting the complex SEMH needs of all pupils.
• Support the class team in facilitating learning opportunities and promoting positive behaviours.
• Report on pupils' progress and concerns, liaising with other school staff to ensure pupils' needs are met.
• Supervise pupils during non-classroom time, including extra-curricular activities and school trips.
• Build positive relationships with pupils, encouraging interaction and positive learning outcomes.
• Assist the Exams Officer with the planning, organisation and administration of internal and external examinations.
