Job summary

Polaris Education invites applications for a SEN Class Teacher at Scunthorpe, opening April 2027. This full-time, term-time role carries a salary of £28,000–£39,520 and 37.5 hours per week. You will plan and deliver lessons under the National Curriculum, addressing SEMH needs and supporting the class team.

You will report progress, promote positive behaviours, and foster a safe, inclusive environment for pupils aged 5–18 with complex needs.

Qualifications

• Hold QTS and be qualified to teach in the UK.
• Experience with SEMH pupils is required.
• Strong behaviour management and classroom strategies.
• Commitment to professional development.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver high-quality lessons within the National Curriculum for SEMH pupils.
• Support the class team and promote positive behaviours.
• Report on pupils' progress and liaise with staff.
• Supervise pupils during non-classroom times and trips.
• Build positive relationships to support learning outcomes.
