Job summary

SANZA Teaching Agency is seeking a SEN Class Teacher for maternity cover at a specialist Camden school, working with a small group of 7 pupils aged 4-7 (Reception to Year 2). The role focuses on early learning, communication, independence and social development within a nurturing environment.

You will teach within EYFS/KS1, using differentiated, play-based methods and specialist communication approaches such as Makaton to support autism needs.

Qualifications

• Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
• Experience teaching children with Autism and additional learning needs.
• Understands EYFS/KS1 curriculum.
• Experience or knowledge of Makaton, PECS or other alternative communication approaches.
• Creative, patient, nurturing and passionate about SEN education.
• Can build strong relationships with parents and colleagues.

Responsibilities

• Take responsibility for teaching and learning within a small class of 7 pupils.
• Deliver engaging, play-based and highly differentiated learning experiences.
• Support early communication, language, social interaction and independence.
• Use specialist communication systems such as Makaton and aided language boards.
• Adapt learning to meet the individual needs and developmental stages of each child.
• Work closely with teaching assistants, parents and the wider school team.
• Create a positive, nurturing and stimulating classroom environment.

SANZA Teaching Agency is delighted to be working with a specialist school in Camden that is looking to appoint an outstanding SEN Class Teacher for on a maternity cover contract.

This is a wonderful opportunity to work with a small group of just 7 pupils aged 4-7 (Reception to Year 2), supporting their early learning, communication, independence and social development.

The school is looking for a warm, enthusiastic and creative teacher who can make learning exciting, build trusting relationships and provide the specialist support that young children with Autism need to flourish.

The Role:
