Job summary

Polaris Education – The Wirral School in Wirral is seeking an inspirational Head Teacher to lead a new school for pupils aged 5–18 with complex needs. You will shape the educational experience, uphold safeguarding standards and drive inclusive, high-quality teaching and pastoral support.

Based in Wirral, the role offers a full-time, term-time contract with a salary of £50,000–£60,000 per annum, plus enhanced pension, free on-site parking, CPD, life insurance and other benefits.

Qualifications

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with primary or secondary teaching experience.
• A suitable first degree and/or National Professional Qualification for Headship (NPQH), although NPQH is not essential
• Experience working with SEN students and a deep understanding of their unique requirements.
• Proven leadership skills, including the ability to inspire and motivate others.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Educational Leadership: Develop and implement a vision aligning with the Polaris ethos, driving inclusion and personalised learning.
• Safeguarding: Act as Designated Safeguarding Lead and collaborate with safeguarding partners.
• Curriculum Enhancement: Tailor the curriculum to meet diverse student needs and ensure engaging learning journeys.
• Pastoral Care and SEN Advocacy: Champion emotional wellbeing and advocate for SEN students’ EHCP outcomes.
• Staff Development: Support and mentor staff, fostering professional growth and collaboration.
• Community Engagement: Build relationships with parents, carers and external partners.
