Job summary

Vision for Education are recruiting for a Behaviour Support Assistant on a full-time basis for a SEN school just outside Horsham to start ASAP. You will work with pupils aged 4-11 with SEMH and other needs, in small classes or 1-1, supporting learning and behaviour management while liaising with external agencies to re-engage students with education.

Applicants should have Level 2/3 qualifications or equivalent, hold a valid driving licence and own vehicle for rural location access; DBS Update

Qualifications

• DESIRED: Level 2/3 Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools or Level 2/3 Early Years Educator
• REQUIRED: License and own vehicle due to rural location
• Ideally have prior school experience with SEND, SEMH or challenging behavioural needs.
• Be confident in behaviour management to de-escalate any threatening or aggressive behaviour.
• To mentor and engage with the pupils, delivering specially designed educational packages.
• Be resilient, empathetic, patient and not take things personally.

Responsibilities

• Work with students in small classes and sometimes 1-1 to support learning.
• Help re-engage students with their learning in a safe, stable environment.
• Deliver tailored educational packages to pupils with SEMH and other needs.
