Job summary

Simply Education in Crewe is seeking a Behaviour Mentor / SEN Teaching Assistant to support learners with autism, ADHD and SEMH in a specialist SEN setting. This is a full-time, term-time role starting September, with a supportive team and ongoing SEN training.

Candidates without school experience are welcome; prior roles in care, youth work, sports coaching or support work are valued. You will provide 1:1 and small-group support, help manage emotions, and build trusting relationships with

Qualifications

• Experience supporting children or adults with behavioural needs or additional needs
• Calm, patient and resilient personality
• Ability to take initiative and think on your feet
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills
• Behaviour Mentor, Teaching Assistant, Support Worker or Care Worker experience is desirable
• Genuine desire to make a difference to young people

Responsibilities

• Supporting pupils with SEN, SEMH, Autism and ADHD
• Working as a Behaviour Mentor, SEN Teaching Assistant and Learning Support Assistant
• Providing 1:1 support and small group interventions
• Helping pupils manage emotions and challenging behaviour
• Encouraging engagement, independence and positive routines
• Building strong relationships with students who need consistency and support
• Working closely with teachers, SENCOs and pastoral teams
• Supporting learning both inside and outside the classroom
