A specialist built school based in Worthing is looking for a dedicated Special Needs and PMLD Teaching Assistant (SEN TA) to join the team now! You will support pupils with special educational needs (SEN), including Moderate (MLD) to Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD), and Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD).
Through this SEN and PMLD Teaching Assistant role you will gain excellent practical experience with SEN pupils in a relevant field, before you take your next step. This role in Worthing will give you experience working with vulnerable pupils, increasing their engagement, attainment and life chances. Learners with profound and multiple learning difficulties (PMLD) have complex learning needs. In additon to their sevre learning difficulties, they may have other significant difficulties, such as physical disabilities, sensory impairment or a sevre medical condition. These learners require a high level of adult support for their learning needs and are likely to need sensory stimulation and a cirriculum broken down into very small steps.
As a SEN and PMLD Teaching Assistant, you will be instrumental in providing consistency, and equipping children and young people with tools to ensure they feel safe, secure, empowered, and believe that they can succeed in life.
