Job summary

Whitby School is seeking a Learning Support Assistant with SEN allowance to join our team across Whitby School and Sixth Form. This permanent, part-time role is 32.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, term time only, with a starting date ASAP.

You will support pupils with additional learning needs, work with small groups and individuals under the direction of class teachers, and help students access learning in a caring, inclusive environment.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children in a learning environment.
• Experience supporting students with various additional learning needs.
• Good literacy, numeracy and interpersonal skills.
• NVQ Level 2 or equivalent (English & Maths GCSE) is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Support pre-planned learning activities as directed by the teacher.
• Provide in-class, small group, and one-to-one support under senior staff.
• Help monitor and record learning, behaviour, participation, progress and achievement.
• Assist with delivering specific learning programmes for pupils with SEN.
• Support access to educational provision as indicated by Education, Health and Care Plans.
