SEN 1-1/ TEACHING ASSISTANT/Full Time- Driver

Vision for Education is seeking dedicated SEN 1:1 Support Assistants to work with children who have Education, Health, and Care Plans (EHCPs).

This is a fantastic opportunity to provide tailored support to students with additional needs, including Autism, ADHD, and behavioural or emotional challenges, enabling them to thrive within a school environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver one-to-one support tailored to the specific needs outlined in the student’s EHCP, ensuring their educational and personal development goals are met.
  • Collaborate with teachers, SENCOs, and other professionals to implement and adapt strategies that meet the child’s needs.
  • Foster a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment where the student feels supported and valued.
  • Use positive behaviour management strategies and trauma-informed practices to help students regulate emotions and behaviours.
  • Maintain accurate records of the student’s progress, challenges, and any incidents, ensuring regular communication with the wider team.
Requirements
  • Proven experience in UK schools working with children or young people with additional needs, ideally supporting those with EHCPs.
  • Familiarity with conditions such as Autism, ADHD, and trauma-related behaviours, and confidence in using appropriate support strategies.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to build trust and rapport with students, staff, and families.
  • Patience, resilience, and a passion for helping children overcome barriers to learning.
  • Knowledge of safeguarding procedures and a commitment to maintaining a safe learning environment.
  • Relevant qualifications (such as Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant, Childcare, or Health & Social Care) are desirable but not essential.
