Job summary

IC Resources is supporting a client in the North East with a Manufacturing Engineer role to optimise WIP flow, cycle time, equipment utilisation and delivery performance in a semiconductor environment. You will drive capacity modelling, data analysis and continuous improvement using Lean/Six Sigma, collaborating with Engineering, Operations and Tool Owners to implement changes and time studies.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience in Semiconductor, Electronics or Automotive manufacturing.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering plus 3 years’ industry experience.
  • Lean/Six Sigma Green Belt certification preferred/required.
  • Comfortable working in a cleanroom environment.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and improve the fab capacity model.
  • Analyse WIP, equipment availability, throughput and data.
  • Perform capacity, cost and “what-if” analyses to support decisions.
  • Identify and resolve issues affecting cycle time, production flow and delivery performance.
  • Assess capacity requirements from changes in product mix, process flows and demand.
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Operations, Automation and Tool Owners.
  • Conduct time studies and data analysis to evaluate process improvements.
  • Support introduction of new processes and production flows.
  • Estimate manufacturing costs, establish time standards and tooling requirements.
  • Drive continuous improvement using Lean/Six Sigma and structured problem solving.

Job description

Our client is developing cutting-edge, next generation compound semiconductors, and is a leader within the North East’s emerging semiconductor cluster. They are now searching for a Manufacturing Engineer to provide manufacturing/industrial engineering expertise, using capacity modelling, data analysis and continuous improvement techniques to optimiseWIP flow, cycle time, equipment utilisation, throughput and delivery performance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain and improve the fab capacity model, ensuring data accuracy and supporting equipment and staffing decisions
  • Analyse WIP, equipment availability, throughput and operational data to identify improvement opportunities
  • Perform capacity, cost and “what-if” analyses to support business and operational decisions
  • Identify and resolve issues affecting cycle time, production flow and delivery performance
  • Assess capacity requirements resulting from changes in product mix, process flows and business demand
  • Work with Engineering, Operations, Automation and Tool Owners to assess the impact of process and equipment changes
  • Conduct time studies and data analysis to evaluate process and throughput improvements
  • Support the introduction of new processes, methods and production flows
  • Estimate manufacturing costs, establish time standards and recommend tooling/process requirements
  • Drive continuous improvement using Lean/Six Sigma and structured problem-solving methods
Experience & Qualifications
  • 2+ years’ experience in Semiconductor, Electronics or Automotive manufacturing, particularly in:
    • Capacity modelling
    • Operations optimisation
    • Data analysis
    • Continuous improvement
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering plus 3 years’ industry experience, or equivalent proven industry experience
  • Lean/Six Sigma Green Belt certification preferred/required
  • Comfortable working in a cleanroom environment
