Job summary

Farrans is seeking a Semi skilled Operative to join our civil engineering team on a battery plant project near Coventry. You will deliver a range of groundworks and site tasks, while ensuring high safety and quality standards on a major construction programme.

The role requires strong teamwork, the ability to follow instructions, and a proactive approach to maintaining equipment and meeting deadlines across all sections of the works.

Qualifications

• Experience as an Operative in civil engineering, construction, or highways.
• Competent in a variety of groundworks.
• Ability to follow instructions.
• Strong awareness of health & safety on site.
• Good teamwork and communication skills.

• Carry out site tasks including groundworks, concreting, drainage, kerbing, paving, and reinstatement.

This project involves the construction of a new battery plant, with an extensive programme of civil engineering and infrastructure works scheduled over the next two years.

• Ensure all works are completed safely, efficiently, and to specification.
• Comply with site safety rules, RAMS, and company procedures.

• Support colleagues and supervisors to ensure project deadlines are met.
• Maintain tools, plant, and equipment in good working order.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Operative in civil engineering, construction, or highways.
• Competent in a variety of groundworks.
• Ability to follow instructions.
• Strong awareness of health & safety on site.
• Good teamwork and communication skills.

(Desirable but not always essential)

• Full UK driving license.
