Job summary

HTA Group is seeking a Semi Skilled Machine Operator in Rotherham to operate and maintain semi-automated robotic seam welding cells, producing high-quality metal components. Your role focuses on precision, efficiency and equipment uptime.

Shifts are Monday to Thursday, rotating Days (6am-4pm) and Nights (8pm-6am). Previous experience with automated/semi machinery is preferred; welding experience would be beneficial but not essential. Strong problem-solving and communication skills are important.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain semi-automated robotic seam welding cells to produce metal components.
• Load and position workpieces into fixtures with crane operation.
• Execute automated weld cycles and monitor robotic arm movements.
• Inspect finished welds for penetration, porosity and adherence to quality standards.
• Perform basic maintenance including cleaning nozzles/shrouds and replacing wire spools or contact tips & liners.
• Troubleshoot minor program deviations or mechanical jams.
• Safety mindset with strict adherence to PPE and machine guarding.
