Job summary

WGM Engineering Ltd. is seeking a Semi Skilled Engineer to support our E&M services team on a permanent, full-time basis.

The role is on-site at private clients and Scottish Water sites, contributing to maintenance, refurbishment, and new installation works while supporting project delivery across the UK water-sector portfolio. You will assist Mechanical Engineers with testing, pre-commissioning activities and general mechanical tasks, building hands-on experience in a growing engineering

Qualifications

  • Hands-on, practical engineering experience in mechanical or maintenance environments.
  • Experience with labouring, assembly, fitting, installation or general mechanical work is beneficial.
  • Comfortable using hand tools and basic power tools safely.

Responsibilities

  • Maintaining, repairing and installing mechanical equipment for private clients and Scottish Water sites.
  • Assist with fault-finding and rectifying problems on mechanical equipment.

Semi Skilled Engineer

to join our Electrical and Mechanical (E&M) Services team on a permanent, full-time basis. This role will be based on-site at various private clients and Scottish Water sites. You will support project delivery across WGM’s growing UK water-sector portfolio. This is a business-critical opportunity to join a growing engineering business delivering essential infrastructure across the UK.

As a Semi Skilled Engineer you will assist our Mechanical Engineers in delivering mechanical maintenance, refurbishment and new installation works including testing & pre-commissioning activities within the E&M business stream.

To support you in the role, you’ll be provided with a company van and fuel card, with a working pattern of 7.30am to 4.00pm Monday to Thursday, and 7.30am to 1.00pm on Fridays.

Job Responsibilities
  • Maintaining, repairing and installing mechanical equipment for various private clients and Scottish Water sites.
  • Assist with fault-finding and rectifying problems on a variety of mechanical equipment.
  • Proactively assist works with strict adherence to Health, Safety and Environmental requirements.
Minimum Requirements
  • Previous hands-on, practical experience in an engineering, mechanical, manufacturing, construction, maintenance, installation, workshop or similar environment.
  • Experience in labouring, assembly, fitting, installation, maintenance or general mechanical work would be beneficial.
  • Comfortable using hand tools and basic power tools and carrying out practical tasks safely.
  • Experience assisting skilled tradespeople, engineers, technicians or maintenance personnel.
  • A practical understanding of how to assemble, dismantle, move, prepare or install components, equipment or machinery.
  • Able to follow instructions and work from basic drawings, measurements or written procedures.
  • Good practical problem-solving skills and a willingness to learn new engineering techniques.
  • Physically comfortable with a hands-on role, including handling tools, equipment and mechanical components.
  • Knowledge of safe systems of work
  • Valid Full UK driving licence is essential
Qualifications And Desirable Experience

The following would be helpful, but is not essential:

  • Experience within the UK water/waste water sector

Salary And Benefits

We are offering a rate of £16.51 per hour (circa £32,194 per annum salary), depending on experience.
