Job summary

Clear Legal & Financial Recruitment is seeking an assistant accountant to join an expanding accountancy practice in Buxton. You will support a varied portfolio of clients and gain exposure to a broad range of accounts and tax work.

The role includes client bookkeeping, preparation of company and partnership accounts, financial statements, interim management accounts, personal tax returns and quarterly VAT returns.

Qualifications

• The candidate should have at least 2–3 years in an accountancy practice with strong understanding of accounts and tax processes.
• Experience with Sage 50, Xero, QuickBooks, IRIS, MyWorkPapers or BrightPay is advantageous.
• Excellent attention to detail, time management and communication with clients verbally and in writing.

Responsibilities

• Client bookkeeping for a varied portfolio of clients.
• Preparation of company and partnership accounts.
• Preparation of financial statements and interim management accounts.
• Personal tax returns and quarterly VAT returns.
• Assist with client portfolio management and contribute to apprentice development.
