Job summary

Castle Employment is working with a respected independent accountancy practice in Scarborough to recruit a Semi Senior Accountant. The role offers hybrid working, a salary up to £32,000 DOE, and full study support to progress ACCA/ACA.

You’ll work with a varied client portfolio, preparing year-end accounts and handling bookkeeping and VAT tasks. The successful candidate will join an experienced team, develop technical knowledge, and take on more responsibility as they progress within the

Qualifications

• Experience in an accountancy practice.
• Proficiency in bookkeeping, VAT and accounts preparation.
• Strong communication with clients and ability to work in a team.

Responsibilities

• Prepare year-end accounts for sole traders, partnerships and limited companies.
• Support bookkeeping and VAT returns for a varied portfolio of clients.
• Assist with management accounts and year-end processes.
• Liaise with clients and respond to accounting queries.
• Support senior colleagues with complex accounts work.
• Assist with tax compliance and broader practice duties.
• Manage own workload and deadlines, and develop technical knowledge.
