Castle Employment is recruiting an Accounts Semi-Senior for a growing practice in Hull. The role suits someone with 1–2 years in practice, adept at preparing year‑end accounts and handling client enquiries within deadlines.

The successful candidate will work under experienced accountants, with flexible, relaxed management and potential study support for ACCA/ACCA or ACA qualifications.

Qualifications

• At least 1-2 years' experience in an accountancy practice.
• Experience preparing year-end accounts for clients.
• Good understanding of accounting principles and compliance.
• Confident communicating with clients and meeting deadlines.

Responsabilités

• Preparing year-end accounts for a range of clients including limited companies, sole traders and partnerships.
• Working from trial balances through to draft sets of accounts.
• Preparing corporation tax computations and assisting with tax compliance.
• Liaising with HMRC and meeting deadlines.
• Managing routine client queries and building relationships.
• Collaborating with senior accountants to progress work to completion.
• Supporting junior team members where appropriate.

Accounts Semi-Senior

Location: Hull

Salary: £28,000 - £32,000 per annum

Hours: Monday to Thursday, 9am-5pm | Friday, 8am-4pm

Job Type: Permanent, Full-Time

Castle Employment is working with a growing and forward-thinking accountancy practice in Hull that is looking to recruit an Accounts Semi-Senior to join its team.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with at least 1-2 years' experience in practice who enjoys preparing accounts, working with a variety of clients and developing their technical skills.

The Role

• Preparing year-end accounts for a range of clients, including limited companies, sole traders and partnerships.
• Working from trial balances through to draft sets of accounts ready for review.
• Preparing corporation tax computations and assisting with tax compliance requirements.
• Liaising with HMRC where required and ensuring relevant deadlines are met.
• Managing routine client queries and building positive working relationships.
• Working closely with Senior Accountants to progress accounts through to completion.
• Supporting junior team members where appropriate.

About You

We would love to hear from candidates who have:

• At least 1-2 years' experience working within an accountancy practice.
• Experience preparing year-end accounts, particularly for limited companies.
• A good understanding of accounting principles and compliance requirements.
• Confidence communicating with clients and working to deadlines.
• A proactive attitude and willingness to continue learning and developing.

Qualifications are not essential!
