Job summary

TPF Recruitment is assisting a well-established accountancy practice in Bexhill to recruit a Semi Senior Accountant. This role offers a supportive, collaborative environment with hybrid working after probation and exposure to a varied client portfolio.

You will develop technical expertise across accounts preparation, tax compliance, bookkeeping and client management while progressing in your career within a growing practice.

Qualifications

• AAT/ACA/ACCA part qualified or equivalent experience.
• At least three years' experience in an accountancy practice.
• Experience preparing accounts and tax returns for sole traders and limited companies.
• Strong bookkeeping experience.
• Good working knowledge of Xero and QuickBooks.
• Experience using IRIS would be advantageous.
• Strong Microsoft Office and Excel skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong organisational skills with ability to manage multiple deadlines.
• Professional approach with a commitment to delivering exceptional client service.

Responsibilities

• Prepare statutory accounts for sole traders and limited companies.
• Prepare personal and business tax returns.
• Complete bookkeeping and maintain accurate financial records for a varied client portfolio.
• Assist with financial reporting and management accounts where required.
• Ensure work is completed accurately and within agreed deadlines.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients.
• Respond to client queries and provide professional day-to-day support.
• Liaise directly with clients to obtain information and resolve accounting queries.
• Maintain accurate client records and ensure confidentiality at all times.
• Assist with day-to-day administration of client work and appointments.
• Support invoicing, expense tracking and general financial administration.
• Collect, organise and analyse financial information for reporting purposes.
• Work closely with colleagues and external providers to ensure efficient delivery of client services.
