Job summary

Puro Accountancy is assisting a Bolton-based accountancy firm to recruit a full-time Semi-Senior Accountant into its friendly, established team. You will prepare year-end accounts for LTDs and prepare VAT returns, with scope for management accounts and other compliance work.

The role offers hybrid working, study support toward ACCA/ACA, a competitive salary and opportunities to grow within a supportive practice.

Qualifications

• UK practice experience is essential.
• AAT Level 4 qualification or equivalent via experience (QBE) preferred.
• Proficiency in Excel, Xero and Sage.

Responsibilities

• Produce year-end accounts for Limited companies (FRS102/FRS105).
• Prepare accounts for Sole traders, partnerships and LLPs.
• Complete corporate, personal and partnership tax returns.
• Handle management accounts (prior experience preferred).
• Prepare VAT returns and occasional bookkeeping tasks.

Responsibilities of the Semi Senior Accountant will encompass:

• Produce year-end accounts for Limited companies, adhering to both FRS102 and FRS105 standards
• Formulating accounts for Sole traders, partnerships, and LLPs
• Completion of corporate, personal, and partnership tax return filings
• Handling management accounts (prior experience preferred)
• Preparation of VAT returns and occasional bookkeeping tasks

To be eligible for the Semi Senior Accountant position, you should possess:

• UK practice experience is essential
• Ideally AAT Level 4 qualification or equivalent through experience (QBE)
• Proficiency in Excel, Xero, Sage, Accounting, and Taxation software
• Strong communication skills, comfortable engaging with clients and colleagues at all levels
