Job summary

Butler Rose Public Practice in Greater Manchester is seeking a Semi-Senior Accountant to join their growing team. The role focuses on accounts preparation and tax for a varied client portfolio, with study support and clear progression within the firm.

The ideal candidate is AAT qualified or ACCA part-qualified with 2+ years in UK practice and will work with Managers and Directors across assignments, benefiting from a collaborative and supportive environment.

Qualifications

• AAT qualified or ACCA part-qualified
• Minimum 2+ years’ experience within a UK accountancy practice
• Knowledge of FRS102 and FRS105
• Experience with software including CCH, Xero, Sage, and Excel
• Strong communication and organisational skills
• Proactive and client-focused approach

Responsibilities

• Prepare year-end accounts for limited companies, sole traders, partnerships, and LLPs
• Prepare VAT returns, bookkeeping, and management accounts for a varied client base
• Assist with corporation tax and personal tax compliance work
• Build strong relationships with clients and respond to day-to-day queries
• Work closely with Managers and Director across a broad range of assignments

Butler Rose Public Practice is delighted to be supporting a friendly, close-knit accountancy firm in the recruitment of an Junior/Semi-Senior Accountant with to join their growing team across their Greater Manchester office.

This is an excellent opportunity for an AAT qualified or ACCA part-qualified professional looking to broaden their experience across accounts and tax within a supportive and collaborative environment. The role will have a stronger focus on accounts preparation and tax across a varied client portfolio.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare year-end accounts for limited companies, sole traders, partnerships, and LLPs
• Prepare VAT returns, bookkeeping, and management accounts for a varied client base
