Job summary

Platinum Recruitment Group is hiring a Semi-Senior Accountant in Chester with hybrid working. You will join a growing top 40 accountancy practice, gaining hands-on experience, building client relationships, and progressing toward professional qualifications.

You’ll work with senior accountants to deliver high-quality service, support clients with Xero, and help coach junior staff in a collaborative, supportive team environment. The role offers clear development paths and a competitive package.

Qualifications

• Part-qualified or actively studying ACA, ACCA or AAT.
• Previous experience working within an accountancy practice.
• Confident communication skills and a client-focused approach.
• A proactive, tech-savvy mindset; knowledge of CCH would be advantageous.
• Someone who enjoys working collaboratively and is keen to progress.

Responsibilities

• Prepare year-end accounts and management accounts for a varied client portfolio.
• Calculate corporation and personal tax liabilities, identifying tax planning opportunities.
• Work closely with senior accountants and managers to deliver excellent client service.
• Build lasting client relationships and provide practical business advice.
• Support clients with cloud accounting software, including Xero.
• Collaborate with other teams to deliver a joined-up service.
• Help coach and develop junior team members.
