Job summary

Axcis Education Recruitment is seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to support students with SEMH on a one-to-one basis and in small groups at a Torbay-based school. The role involves assisting the class teacher with classroom activities and creating a calm, structured learning environment.

Hours are 8:30am–16:00, Monday to Friday, with pay £95–£105 per day (dependent on SEND experience and qualifications).

Qualifications

  • Experience working with SEMH is advantageous but not essential.
  • Comfortable supporting students in one-to-one and small-group settings.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.

About the Role

About the School
  • This Torbay-based school supports students aged 11–16 whose needs cannot be met in mainstream education. All pupils have an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) related to Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.
  • The school prides itself on providing a safe, inclusive environment where students are supported to thrive both academically and personally.

Salary / Pay Rate will be dependent on your skills and experience.
