Job summary

The Esland Group Ltd in Shropshire is seeking a SEMH Teaching Assistant to join our new SEN School in Ditton Priors. This permanent, full-time role supports pupils with SEMH, working alongside class teachers to enable access to a broad, balanced curriculum.

You will help students in small groups or individually, manage behaviours, and contribute to a nurturing, trauma-informed environment. The position offers pension, life cover, and ongoing training as part of our commitment to staff

Qualifications

First aid knowledge and certification.
Ability to relate well to children and adults.
Work constructively as part of a team.
To have some knowledge of National Curriculum requirements.
Effective knowledge and use of ICT to support learning.
Understanding of relevant policies/codes of practice and awareness of relevant legislation.
Basic understanding of child development and learning.
Ability to self-evaluate learning needs and actively seek learning opportunities.

Responsibilities

Assist class teachers to support our students to fulfil their potential.
Work with individual students or small groups to access our curriculum.
Help manage behaviour and promote a trauma-informed, positive learning environment.
Collaborate with colleagues to contribute to ongoing school improvement.
