Job summary

Teaching Personnel Ltd is seeking a dedicated SEMH Teaching Assistant to join a specialist independent day school in Surrey. You will support students with autism, communication needs, dyslexia, and anxiety-related barriers to learning.

You’ll work in a small-class environment, helping students develop academically, socially, and emotionally while making a meaningful impact. Ongoing training and development opportunities are provided.

Qualifications

  • GCSE Maths & English at grade C or above.
  • Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or working towards).
  • Understanding of safeguarding and child protection.
  • Experience with SEMH and/or ASD.

Responsibilities

  • Provide tailored support to students in and out of the classroom.
  • Assist with differentiated learning activities.
  • Support communication, social, and independence skills.
  • Monitor progress and liaise with staff and SEN coordinators.
  • Promote a positive, inclusive environment.
  • Support behaviour management strategies.

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEMH Teaching Assistant in Surreyto join a specialist independent day school supporting students with autism, communication needs, dyslexia, and anxiety-related barriers to learning.

You’ll work in a supportive, small-class environment, helping students develop academically, socially, and emotionally while making a meaningful impact.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide tailored support to students in and out of the classroom
  • Assist with differentiated learning activities
  • Support communication, social, and independence skills
  • Monitor progress and liaise with staff and SEN coordinators
  • Promote a positive, inclusive environment
  • Support behaviour management strategies
Skills & Qualifications
