Job summary

Empowering Learning are seeking a Social, Emotional and Mental Health Teaching Assistant for a SEND specialist school on the Nottinghamshire/Lincolnshire border. Driving is essential due to rural location.

The role involves supporting pupils during lessons, assisting staff, and delivering 1:1 or small-group activities while collecting evidence for assessments. Experience with SEND and working with young people is advantageous.

Qualifications

• Experience working with young people.
• Ability to work with individuals with behavioural difficulties.
• Highly organised with excellent communication skills.
• Willingness to support children and be part of the wider school environment.
• Experience with SEND is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Support children during lessons and school activities.
• Support staff and pupils during lunch and breaks.
• Tailor learning activities to individual needs.
• Assist with daily care tasks for pupils.
• Work with pupils with various SEND and mental health needs.
• Deliver 1:1 or small group activities.
• Collect evidence of pupils' work to support assessment.
