Job summary

TimePlan Education is recruiting a Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) Teaching Assistant to join a specialist school near Ely on a long-term basis. You will support primary students with learning and emotional development, working 1:1 or in small groups to help them access education in a structured, nurturing environment.

Ideal candidates have SEMH experience or a care/youth work background, with strong interpersonal skills and emotional resilience to remain calm in challenging

• Previous SEMH or similar setting experience preferred.

The Role

• Supporting students on a 1:1 or small group basis with their learning and emotional development
• Helping to manage challenging behaviour consistently and calmly
• Encouraging engagement, motivation, and positive outcomes in and out of the classroom
• Working collaboratively with teaching staff, pastoral teams, and external professionals

About You

• Previous experience working in an SEMH or similar setting is highly desirable
• Candidates with a care or youth work background are encouraged to apply
