Job summary

TeacherActive in Liverpool is seeking a full-time SEMH Teaching Assistant to support students with Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs starting in September. The role involves working closely with teaching staff to manage behaviour and provide tailored support while helping students across Key Stage 4.

The ideal candidate will have experience working with young people with SEMH needs, a calm and patient approach, and the skills to build positive relationships.

Job description

Position Overview

North West/ temporary / £95 - 115 per day

TeacherActive is proud to be working with a specialist provision in the Speke area, supporting students with Social, Emotional and Mental Health / SEMH needs. The setting provides a structured and supportive learning environment, focused on helping young people build confidence, develop positive relationships and achieve their full potential both academically and personally.

The school is looking to appoint a full-time SEMH Teaching Assistant from September on a long-term basis. The successful SEMH Teaching Assistant will be supporting students across Key Stage 4 / KS4, working closely with teaching staff to manage behaviour, encourage engagement and provide tailored support to students with additional emotional and behavioural needs.

Responsibilities

Support students with SEMH needs across Key Stage 4/ KS4.

Manage challenging behaviour within a secondary school setting.

Collaborate with teaching staff to encourage student engagement and behaviour management.

Qualifications & Experience
  • Experience working with children or young people with SEMH needs.
